REINTRODUCING FLAIRE: A MAGICAL SHOP FOR DÉCOR AND GIFTS FROM THE HEART!

Flaire resembles the quaint little shop you will see in a Christmas movie. Beautiful inside and out, decorated with love, unique and full of charm. And, like the rest of Arbor Village… woven out of the naturalist beauty of big trees and vintage homes.

Arbor Village is a small, family-owned commercial property on Los Alamitos Blvd consisting of four shops plus the Shenandoah restaurant. The shops themselves, Flaire included, are located inside converted 1940’s cottages that used to be homes. A majority of the shared “backyard” behind the cottages is a beautiful outdoor seating area for Shenandoah restaurant under a canopy of trees… hence the name “Arbor Village.”

Next to the outdoor seating is a walkway to Flaire, through their beautiful garden full of inspirational signs, flags, and knick-knacks. 

Since 2022, Debbie Jackobs has owned the little shop formerly known as “Flags with a Flair.” Recently, she changed the name to “Flaire” to emphasize the point that her shop offers so much more than flags.

“The flags haven’t gone anywhere,” Debbie assures me. “I just want people to know that we also have so much more.” 

Behind the garden is “A Place of Our Own Hair Salon,” a business that Debbie used to own. For 15 years, she styled hair and stared across to the garden and toward the cute little shop. In 2021, around the time she was considering retirement, she was approached about buying the shop. “I didn’t know what I was going to do at the time, and this shop filled a void of creativity and community in my life.” 

Christmas at Flaire

The shop’s #1 décor seller during Christmas time is its signature “water lanterns.” With a look similar to snow globes, these enchanting lanterns are powered by electricity, and thereby bring a never-ending flow of Christmas magic into your home. Flaire is full of them during the holidays, which combined with their hundreds of ornaments, provide that same magic to your shopping experience as well.

Faith-Based Gift and Décor

Debbie takes pride in her shop’s extensive collection of Christian faith-based gifts, home and garden décor, and signs all year long, but especially around Christmas time. Her Christian faith plays a big role in her life. Perhaps that’s one reason she said her favorite part of running this boutique has nothing to do with sales. Rather, it’s “being able to interact with customers as the person who takes time to help them or cheer them up if they’re having a bad day.”

Sip and Shop

December 5th is the annual “Arbor Village Holiday Night” when all the shops stay open late, offer hot cocoa and other treats, and music fills the air. If you’ve never been, it’s a wonderful, wholesome, and festive way to get some personalized holiday shopping done.

Can’t make it on that night? Debbie also offers “sip then shop” private shopping nights for groups of friends who want her to keep the store open late for a private and fun shopping experience before a dinner reservation at Shenandoah.  Just call her to ask!
