Local Law Enforcement Serves Customers at Q Smokehouse

Last Thursday night, local law enforcement joined the Q Smokehouse staff for Tip-A-Cop, a fundraising event created in efforts to raise money for Special Olympics Long Beach athletes.

Long Beach police officers and explorers assisted hosts in greeting guests as they entered the restaurant and servers in bringing plates to tables in the dining area. Other officers helped serve cold refreshments to customers.

Any tips received during the duration of the four-hour-long event directly benefited Special Olympics Long Beach. The organization aims to provide various sports training and athletic competition for Olympic-type sports for people with disabilities. In total, the Tip-A-Cop event raised just under $2,000 and received three sponsors that night.

The Special Olympic athletes were also present at the event. They enjoyed delicious barbecue at the restaurant while talking with customers, officers, and staff.
