Not to brag, but this weekend, Long Beach will host one of the most scenic events in all of Southern California: The Jet Blue Long Beach Marathon and Half-Marathon!
On Sunday, Oct. 7, runners from all over the world will rip up the streets of Long Beach for 26.2 miles with the city cheering them on. Starting in Downtown Long Beach, runners head towards the historic Queen Mary and then through Shoreline Village. After running next to the Pacific Ocean on the flat beach path, half marathoners will continue down Ocean Boulevard while full marathoners veer right and head through Belmont Shore toward Marine Stadium. The Long Beach race course combines spectacular oceanfront views, charming seaside communities, and the metropolitan feel at the start and finish.
If you’re a band, drums line, cheerleading squad, pep squad, radio station, or simply a group of people willing to provide some energy and enthusiasm to participants from the sidelines, contact lbinfo@motivsports.com to provide the on-course entertainment. Be creative, because spectators will be judged by quality of sound, level of enthusiasm, the set-up of the area, interaction with the runners, and feedback received from participants after the race.
