If you’re looking for something to do on a Friday night, the Pyramid is the perfect place to go. The Black and Blue Rivalry Series with UC Irvine always draws an electric crowd and this a big match for bragging rights.

Los Cerritos Wetlands Habitat Restoration

The Aquarium of the Pacific hosts a monthly habitat restoration event at the Los Cerritos Wetlands. This is your opportunity to visit and learn about our local wetlands, help the environment, and support the Aquarium of the Pacific.
The Los Cerritos Wetlands Stewardship Program is working to restore 66 acres of wetlands owned by the Los Cerritos Wetlands Authority. These wetlands occupy habitats in both Long Beach and Seal Beach. The program’s ongoing restorative activities have included removing non-native plants, collecting seeds from rare plants for later use, and collecting trash.
No registration is required and the entire family is welcome to participate. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.

Long Beach Hi-Performance Swap Meet

Veterans Memorial Stadium
Founded in 1983 with just seven vendors and 40 shoppers, the Long Beach Hi-Performance Swap Meet at Veterans Memorial Stadium has grown to over 600 vendors and thousands of shoppers while maintaining its hardcore automotive flavor. Admission is $10 and parking is FREE.
This outdoor event has become world-renowned for its content of antique, vintage, classic, and high performance cars and parts for sale at bargain prices. The swap meet is a must visit for hot rod, muscle car, street rod, classic car and truck enthusiasts. The Long Beach Swap Meet has been featured on such television shows as Monster Garage, Popular Hot Rodding TV, and NHRA Drag Racing Today.
If you love sweet cars and good food, this is where you need to be.
The JetBlue Long Beach Marathon

Shoreline Drive
On Sunday, Oct. 7, runners from all over the world will rip up the streets of Long Beach for 26.2 miles with the city cheering them on. Starting in Downtown Long Beach, runners head towards the historic Queen Mary and then through Shoreline Village. After running next to the Pacific Ocean on the flat beach path, half marathoners will continue down Ocean Boulevard while full marathoners veer right and head through Belmont Shore toward Marine Stadium. The Long Beach race course combines spectacular oceanfront views, charming seaside communities, and the metropolitan feel at the start and finish.
